Honestly Finland should just deport all full Russian citizens right back over. Let them deal with what they voted for.

Lots of Russians didn't vote Putin. Especially the young. It's either get sent to jail to be tortured or go to the front and get tortured/die, be conscripted and die, volunteer and die, or flee.

I don't know man all their social media basically them being hateful to everyone in that area... And it wasn't like they weren't hateful to them before the war I mean I've seen videos of them literally going to Ukrainian streamers and harassing them. I'm not so sure that the narrative works.

You should watch the YouTuber Nfkrz. He’s Russian but I’ve followed him for some time because he’s always voiced opposition to Putin’s policies, especially the homophobic ones. He left Russia shortly after the invasion, well before the conscription started. His perspective on the issue is quite fascinating.

The Russian people have gravitated around "strong" authoritarian leaders for centuries for the perceived stability they bring.

It doesn't matter what that leader is called. Could be the tsar, the general secretary or now the president.

OR stay and fight back.

With what? People protested in large numbers in 2012. Most people are in fear or apathetic. And Putin's goons have the firepower and media. Russia would need to be much weaker internally. Oddly, China doesn't have as tight a grip on its populace despite more resources.

People have been protesting in varying quantities and timeframes all year in Russia. There is still a sizable amount of people who are willing to fight back against Putin in Russia. Letting the wealthy escape sanctions by fleeing to unsanctioned countries defeats part of the purpose of saod sanctions.

Yeah exactly. It's not like these are poor Russians these are going to be very rich people who actually need to face the consequences of something that they are responsible for.

There are people with the clothes on their back crossing borders. Haven't you seen videos of checkpoints? Most people aren't oligarchs.

So send them back armed. There is no fucking way the entire border is being watched.

These calls for action against Germans and Japanese in the West during world war 1/2 totally stopped the war and didn't lead to any more problems, distrust and hate down the line
