God to me an “old car” is one without remote starters where you can do whatever the fuck you want because there are no electronics save the radio/cassette player. I’m old.

Lots of vehicles have overrides. My 2009 Toyota would not allow you to lock it from the outside while running. It would lock and then immediately reopen.

Maybe, but it's one of those things that most people would think nothing of until something like this happens to them. She was doing Door Dash, so I assume she was close to the vehicle and gone for a very short period of time.
