This photo alone is all you need to understand the perspective of police these days. Sad that we’ve gotten to this place as a society.

The fact that they know there's a camera and will be evidence is the most telling thing to me - they know it won't matter.

This has been happening for decades.

Let’s fix it now. Anyway.

peprollgod t1_ixermcp wrote

Good luck with that. Prosecutors HATE charging cops and will only do it when they absolutely have to.

They’re being forced to more and more because of cams and the internet.

SpacemanBatman t1_ixfb3ys wrote

Well we fixed that by making it illegal to film cops in multiple states

OOOOOO0OOOOO t1_ixfb6ap wrote

Which states would that be?

California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

Yeah that’s not true. It’s legal in every state you just took the trouble to copy and paste.

SpacemanBatman t1_ixfbsnu wrote

All 12 of those states require consent to record any interaction or conversation

You might want to use a little google-foo and research that some more champ. If that were the case nobody could have a security camera.

Anytime you are in an open public space (for example, most public roads, public parks, and public beaches) where other individuals can witness what is happening, you can record the police as long as you are not interfering with police activity.

OOOOOO0OOOOO t1_ixfdseo wrote

It should also be said that you can and should film them if you are the police activity. Live stream if possible.

Yeah I had an uncle who was arrested for armed robbery and the Oklahoma City police tuned him up good before they got to the pd.

There are some crimes that I'm fine with a good tuning by the police. Armed robbery is one of them. That's an unpopular opinion I'm sure.

Good thing they never get the wrong suspect then.

Fuck extrajudicial justice. That isn’t how society functions.

AustonsNostrils t1_ixhsnle wrote

That is how society functions. Christ, we're living in a world where people think supposed micro-agressions should be met with violence.

prizefighter2112 t1_ixiny53 wrote

So let’s meet the accusation of a crime with violence! That’ll solve it!

This is what you sound like.

AustonsNostrils t1_ixiopvn wrote

Solve what? I love those videos where the townsfolk mercilessly beat criminals in the street. I don't agree that jail guards should beat prisoners without great cause.
