Considering how many groups I'm a part of that I sign my name to,I'm surprised I've never heard this before now

I'm surprised the French gov't didn't step in at some point. It's kinda sad that they didn't.

There where several articles about 6 months ago. Glad they’ve managed to solve this.

What a nice place for condos, nice view of the beach where thousands of people died

A second thing this Canadian gov' did good. First being legalization of marijuana. No condo should be built in this historical place

Canadian colonization!

We don’t invade, we buy. It’s the right thing to do!

Welcome to Canada. One passport at a time please, sorry for the lack of buildings, there are desecrations to prevent.

So of the five D-Day beached Juno was the Canadian one.

Juno had the highest casualty rate of any beach, including Omaha. Omaha lost more men total because more landed there.

On Juno the losses were almost entirely due to mines destroying landing craft. The terrain was pretty flat so once the troops hit land the fighting wasn't as impossible as Omaha.

Juno beach was basically already a memorial. I do get what you're saying, people gave their lives all over Europe fighting fascism. But maybe we can try to save some spots that haven't already been developed
