Amnesty has dramatically harmed their own reputation by staying basically silent on Russian atrocities carried out in Ukraine.
Rondeyvuew t1_itpdfzy wrote
Silent is such a strong, inaccurate word.

Not at all what I’m doing.
I’m criticizing the validity of amnesty international because they are trying to pick and chose what war crimes to call out.

I see no less that 35 different condemnations of russian war crimes by amnesrty in the past 8 months. So, no, they haven't. https://www.amnesty.org/en/search/Ukraine%20/

Is that why the head of Amnesty's Ukraine office resigned?

For those of you who think the ukraine hasn't committed war crimes, msg me.
I have videos of them killing POWs, torturing prisoners, attacking civilians, targeting civilian areas, firing from civilian areas using them as cover, etc.

Almost certainly didn't have anything to do with Gaza. Ukraine is in northeast Europe, Gaza is in southwestern asia. They're not really close and Ukraine got some..oh how do I say this, more pressing issues?

No they don't. Germans killed millions of Jews in just a few years while the Palestinian population has only grown in 70 years.
If Israel used the same tactics as Nazi Germany there would be no Arabs there

Systematic destruction of an ethnic group and its culture falls right under the definition if genocide. Also, Israel is a terrorist state.

I get that Palestinian children are dying, I'm just not seeing how you made the jump from collateral damage to genocide

I agree that they're targeted, but I think you and I are not seeing eye-to-eye on the targets (since I count extremist Palestinian militants as a legitimate target).
Tell you what, let's prove genocide using something less open to interpretation: whats the Palestinian population compared to 10 years ago?
Edit: I think it's safe to say that based off your silence, you've seen how problematic the claim of Genocide is

Because the Native American population has been steadily growing since the settlers arrived there’s no way that any genocide can have happened, and anytime that treaties were violated and the settlers moved into native land it was perfectly legitimate
Same thing goes for the Irish too btw
DarkSoulfromDS t1_itvwsvp wrote
Where’s the falce equivalency? The council that has members that can literally veto anything that goes against their interests (as Russia is doing right now too by blocking any motion of genocide or abuses against Ukrainian citizens ) is of course the single most reliable source on international politics as nobody has any agenda and truth always prevails
[deleted] t1_itwyzqj wrote
What is a terrorist state? A terrorist is a non state actor so that's pretty much an oxymoron.
Genocide requires mass death and destruction of a people, it's in the word

I think the key distinction between your examples and mine is you're looking at population growth AFTER an established genocide. The above claim is stating that genocide is currently happening and has been happening for 60 years. There's the equivalency issue.
The evidence just does not support that claim at all
Longwalk4AShortdrink t1_iu12498 wrote
You must have missed the part where SEVERAL countries rejected the Amnesty report (mostly western countries like the UK, Japan, Canada, Germany, etc.).
I also don't see how UN policy has anything to do with various countries leadership rejecting a biased report by an NGO
