looks like she hopped off to swim with a pod of dolphins (which the shark was possibly following?) when she was attacked - she was not, as the title might suggest, ripped from atop the jet ski

TIL apparently sharks can often be found nearby groups of dolphins. It makes a ton of sense though.
> This myth is often associated with a shark safety tip: “If you see dolphins, it's safe to swim there because their presence scares away sharks.” This is simply not correct. In fact, sharks and dolphins are often found near each other for a simple reason—they eat the same food, and both go where the food is.

A bite to one of her legs with a very 'deep cut' sounds like her femoral artery was severed.

Depends, does not need to be at all. The artery is protected being on the inside of the thighs not the easiest place to get to unless you have a big ass mouth with sharp as shit teeth

I’ve read stories where dolphins can be dicks to and hurt people too, so if it were me, I would have passed on that swim.

Well, they don't call dolphins rapists of the sea for nothing.

this is true. Dolphins have sex for fun and also kill other mammals for fun. https://www.nytimes.com/1999/07/06/health/evidence-puts-dolphins-in-new-light-as-killers.html
