I remember going to warehouse and sample sales back in the 80s and 90s. Mostly in Secaucus. Are those around anymore? They used to be advertised in the newspapers, can’t seem to find anything online.

Clarins in Orangeburg NY has a yearly Warehouse Sale that is the real thing. It's cosmetics, not clothes though.

Daffy Dans was often a mess on Rt 9, those were golden times, JC had factory outlets too and of course Secaucus i the 80's.

Yes! I got some great stuff at DD back in the day. Dirt cheap too! My mom and I would go and have a blast digging for treasure

wish I didnt give away so much, Norma Kamala suits, Betsy Johnson as well as other designers not my NYC girls. The messier it was the better. too bad they tried to be mainstream and poof, out of biz.

No....i got a TV for a steal at one of those maybe 10ish years ago. Basically you ordered it online, and they gave you a time to come to the warehouse to pick it up.
It was totally legit, through the manufacture (was Sharp) clearing out previous years stock. The exact tv was still on the shelves at the time for 3x what i paid.
I think the truth of the matter is with the internet the way it is, its easier and more economical for places to just sell excess stock to a wholesaler in one shot.

Some of the ones that were more "store like," ex Eileen Fisher outlet, had really stringent return policies. They ended up being not that much cheaper, if cheaper at all, than shopping at Macy's during one of its many one day sales and have more liberal return policies.

Raise your hand if you visited Edmund Scientific Factory Store in the late 90's.
