Tasked with putting together a lunch meeting for a business group in or around Trenton. Used to doing this but not in NJ... are there any places this sub would recommend for a reasonable restaurant, preferably with a private room? Say for 12 people or so?

Not sure about a private room but check Malaga, which I think is on Lalor, in the south end of the city.

Cooper’s Riverview would work, and Revere or Erini if you can travel outside of Trenton a few miles.

antonio’s is literally right across the calhoun street bridge and is pretty good. don’t know about a private room, but it’s a sit down restaurant.
