Does anyone have job leads?

I just graduated with my bachelors of science in psychology and I’m looking to start a full time job (preferably within the mental health field, but also open to HR, receptionist, office work, etc.) I have great work experience although I do have a gap in employment from this September- now, as I just moved from out of state. Any leads or if you are looking for someone would be greatly appreciated!

I would also really prefer hours to be M-F, 9-5/ 8-4

Have you considered applying for a state job? The pay might be a little lower than the private sector (depending on the position), but the benefits are outstanding. I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard for you to land something with the Department of Human Services, DOH, or DCA. Even the judiciary and OAG have entry level positions for those with bachelors. In fact, I’m sure the DOL and OIT do as well. They all should.

I find on average my benefits are still much better than the benefits offered to my private-sector peers. Maybe it’s because we’re young and somewhere between “fresh out of college” and “season professionals”, though.

Plus I pay so little for such great health insurance coverage that I always brag about it and I prob still will even after the price hikes.

USAJobs has tons of medical field options, like others have said federal or state jobs don’t compete in pay but it’s a foot in the door

Congrats! Mental health is a huge deal, especially with Covid so it’s a great industry to be in! I feel like a rebirth is occurring where people are talking more and more about the status of their mental health. What about LGBTQ centers? Big pharma companies throughout the state? I’d find networking opportunities for those in your field that live in your area of NJ/NYC/PHI and utilize LinkedIn.

My employer is always hiring job coaches and 1-1 aides for students with disabilities. Most of them are college students working on a master's, or retired teachers. PM me if interested.

Go to your nearest insurance company office. Allstate, State Farm, "independent" agency. Tell them you want a job helping them support new and existing customers. They'll have to send you for training. This is a great entry level job with enormous upside potential.

Just curious. What university allows you to graduate with a BS Psychology? It is a useless degree unless you want a sales career.

What does that mean, allows you to graduate? Do you expect a university to not offer degrees in psych, or pull back at the last minute and not let someone graduate because they feel it's useless? I know many people graduated with the degree in psychology and are doing very well for themselves. It prepares you for many different fields.
