The corridors for that mall are so narrow for the amount of foot traffic they get.

Well it’s fitting, kids fucked around and found out….a half decade before “invented” the phrase.

Need more free recreation programs for teens in nj. Extracurricular activities are extremely expensive. L

When I was 11 during the summer we had about 100 kids show up to my neighborhood park (very small park) and fights broke out. I never knew why everyone showed up, but I rode my bike to it cause it was a gathering. Literally no one went to that park ever so it was weird anyone was there. Especially kids from other neighborhoods. It was just a playground and a tennis court. I didn’t think much about the fights cause kids just fight sometimes. No cops showed up, or parents, kids just fought and then everyone ran away lol. No one had cell phones or internet or whatever at the time, I still don’t get how everyone even knew to meet there.
Kids are dumb lol

Most malls have something similar to keep these stupid teenagers out

When. I was a teen in the 80s were hundreds of us hanging at the mall and no problems. Guess we had good luck or has something changed?

I never understood the whole hanging out at the mall thing. As kids, we would hang at the playground where it was totally fine for you to fuck around with each other.

Not sure about now but back in the mid 90s Cherry hill mall had some great curbs and manual pads so my skate crew would often just hang around the area.

likewise when I was a kid all of the skaters in the area had the safe haven that was Black Diamond at the Moorestown Mall, that place was legit heaven on earth for us. I want to say in middle school I was there almost every weekend during the cold months. I still bump into people that I knew from there and we get to reminisce on the shared experience and talk about just how awesome that place was… It was so heartbreaking when the movie theatre bought out the space. RIP Black Diamond.

In the late 90s, they banned hanging out at playgrounds at dusk. Much like deforestation, when you destroy the teenager's natural habitat, they start invading civilized spaces. I had to retreat to this very mall when the much closer park was cut off to us.

I remember when I was 13, 18 years ago one could go to any mall as a teen. The only thing that I can think of that went wrong are 2 things. Either parents are to dependent on school officials doing the parenting or babysitting; or parents do not care anymore.

For those that won’t read the article > Starting on Dec. 26, Cherry Hill Police started enforcing the ban from the hours of 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Teens must be with a parent or supervised by someone 21 years of age or older.
>This came about after an incident at the mall in 2017 that started at JC Penney. Police encountered 700 to 1,000 teens who converged on the mall. Several fights broke out, and five people were arrested.
Also, this is the fifth year for this policy.
