I know it sounds insane to go to the beach at night in the winter, but I want to propose to my partner under the stars ⭐️ Does anyone know a beach (or normal park with a nice night view) in south or central NJ that is open to the public until 7-8p or later? Thanks for the help

Most beaches are “open”. Atlantic highlands would give you a small beach and a view of the city skyline

Spring Lake. The two bridges over the lake are illuminated with "Christmas" lights. If you're lucky, you may see swans there. (Just watch out for goose poop!)

What about high point park in NJ? Perhaps you can fit that into the proposal being the highest spot in NJ.

Go to Sandy Hook. At the end, near 9Gun, there is a trail that heads to the false hook. A hundred feet or so down it is a tall overlook tower.

Best view out there.

Union Beach has a great NYC view - all lit up at night.

Try near convention hall in asbury?? Also there’s lots of cute little parks in ocean grove but they’re usually decorated with religious stuff (so depending on your ideal aesthetic/views that may not be a great option, but is walkable from AP)

You can go on any NJ beach at night. It's called the Public Trust Act.

So how does Point Pleasant get away with locking their beach up at night?! This always confuses me. They lock all access to the beach (from what I can see, maybe there’s a secret entrance) and there’s signs that says “beach closed 6pm”

I don't know why. Residents in Loch Arbour won a court case against a person reststricting access. Actually the Public Trust Doctrine gives everyone access to the sand below the mean high tide line. During summer the municipalities have the rights to charge for access. We all have access to mist beaches. take a drive up Ocean Ave from Spring Lake to Asbury Park. All those beaches are never closed.

Those are the ones I typically go to that’s why it always puzzles me how Point gets away with completely closing after dark.

One time a few friends and I hung out at the top of Washington’s Rock at night. The view is really beautiful and you can drive up there.

You can only use the MSFV pass if you’re actively fishing. It’s not a beach buggy pass, it’s a mobile sport fishing pass.
