The ad that Healy ran the most had nothing to do with Kim, it just featured Healy unplugging Joe Biden's guitar at a rock concert. Which kind of sucked, Joe was shredding.

Well, they are a little bit country, and Joe is a little bit rock and roll

I look forward to voting for him when he runs for Senate some day. He's done nothing but impress me.

Really annoyed I got redistricted out of the 3rd and into the 4th. Glad to see Andy re-elected.

Aye, we went from that gasbag Tom MacArthur to Kim and now we're stuck with professional bench warmer Chris Smith. yay....
One step forward and two steps back...

Ugh. The fact that Smith commands as much of the vote as he does is really disheartening, though not surprising.

Anti-abortion. Anyone who wants a post-15 week abortion ban should admit they either think women should suffer and die because God commanded it or that they are so ignorant, they have no business even having an opinion about pregnancy, let alone legislating around it. Also, he wants to protect "crisis pregnancy centers", which lie to women and generally do not have licensed medical professionals running them. He also doesn't want Medicaid to be able to cover abortions. (Interestingly, he seems to be against organ harvesting, but has no problem forcing women to be incubators.)
-
Anti-public school. If you want tax dollars to go to vouchers for religious schools, you are saying you wish to defund public schools.
-
Anti-vaxx. Why should members of the armed forces get special protection for refusing the COVID vaccine as he proposed, when it is a long-established principle that vaccine adherence is a basic tenet of force readiness?
The thing is, he's mostly quiet (completely absent from the public, and the state, actually) presents as respectable, particularly in comparison to some of the elected kooks in Congress, he has been around so long his name recognition claws are in deep, and not everything he proposes is evil or bat-shit crazy, so I guess that gets him pretty far.

He also does not live here. For some reason this frustrates me the most.

Right. Didn't his kid qualify for in-state tuition in Virginia for college? I used to live near his NJ office and besides the sign outside, you definitely couldn't tell if anyone ever existed there. Like, it's all just for show.

I had Chris Smith before redistricting, now I have Andy Kim. Chris Smith sucks and I'm glad to be rid of him. Sorry that you still have to deal with him.
rockmasterflex t1_iwurmvu wrote
Chris smith isn’t a professional bench warmer he RUNS the anti-abortion caucus within congress. A bench warmer at worst would be someone who draws a salary to do nothing.
Smith draws a salary paid for by the common man to actively work against the common man

Damn, leave it to the Devil himself to make me think he didn't actually do anything.
Welp, since big boys are getting elected to Congress...maybe I'll have a go!

I'm a moderate republican. More center than anything. Andy Kim is a good guy in my opinion. Sorry to see him move out of my district

Still think of the pics of him helping clean up after the Jan 6 riot in the Capitol

I wish he would endorse Medicare for All but still better than a Republican.

I gotta say he must’ve spent a fortune in advertising. I was like dude you got me vote, stop haunting me.
NHKBoi t1_iwqb7ez wrote
he stayed quiet, out of the spotlight and worked. there’s nothing even the most hardcore opponent could draw on to run against him.
he deserves his win.
