if you financed the car and had it paid off, you need to get a notarized letter from your original lender stating there is no lien. you need your current registration. that’s the easy part. the hard part is dealing with the bureaucratic mess that is the njmvc. hope you have plenty of vacation time.

Nah...last month I was in exactly the same situation - literally took less than 5 minutes at MVC.

Probably depends on which MVC you go to. I went last week, not to replace a title, but transfer for the car I bought privately. And register it. I was early for my appt, but they let me in, and I was in, out and done in under 20 minutes. I went to Washington
