We can get a green card which we are doing but it takes 1-2 years for the government to process it so unfortunately he can’t work until then.

H1B is a long process to. What visa are you on if you dont mind me asking? He might be eligible for a EAD card depending on the situation.

Search companies via their presense here in NJ and then filter their job portals by site. Apply and then check with HR directly. In my experience visa sponsor option is not always announced on job posting.
