You're still a child in imagination land if you think a third grader should cross a highway unattended.

Why didn't you say a 2nd grader crossing a turnpike while being egged on by onlookers who are all shouting, "do it! do it! do it!"?
Third graders and highways everywhere? You're still a child in imagination land if you think that applies across the board.
Of course, there would be exceptions, but don't come at with me a shitpost as if that shitpost applies to every single school, in every single county, and in every single city or township.

It's not a shit post. There are places with pedestrian infrastructure but they are the exception I believe.

Did it every day going to school in suburban NJ elementary, walked a mile and a half. What highway in Piscataway is uncross-able, 18?
Kids in actual cities walk every day, this just seems like some helicopter parent shit.

I'd actually feel safer in an urban area. The suburbs have wide streets and people going 45 in a 25, running stop signs. In fog and rain. It is not safe, and I'm not willing to risk my kids life for it. The route to school was not designed for pedestrians.
