Wonderful, assuming by your sarcasm that the conversation actually went perfectly well. Then why can't you understand that it was your own business / right / choice to teach your child that, instead of public schools? Obviously the "trans" issue goes far deeper than whether or not they exist, and not all layers of it may be as age appropriate as others.

What exactly is wrong with you as the parent making that entire decision? Why is wanting that, instead of the State doing it make me <insert trendy insult here>?

PS I am being genuine when I say "wonderful" - because it is.

It's poking fun at people who think letting up on their control is a freight train to hell. My kids are young. Haven't had the question yet. But I'm not worried about what other people tell them because I have the type of relationship where they're comfortable asking their parents about things and I can help them wrap their heads around it.

I don't need to be the first person to expose them to new things. That's not healthy or realistic.

And that is your decision for your children. I would think its simple respect to reciprocate and allow for other people to manage their own children too. No criticism of poking fun though, its a free country, that's the point.
