Submitted by heptapod t3_1204lm8 in newjersey

I found 2 STL files that I want to get printed and I was wondering if anyone in /r/newjersey would recommend a place that does 3D printing. Preferably a fast turnaround time. I know the Ocean County Library does it for free, just it happens once a month and only one print a month, and I think the same for Middlesex Township, and I want it sooner than later and to be able to select what color of PLA to use.

Thank you

Check your (believe it or not) library... Look for others nearby. Also some high schools.

Also, maker space weekend is Saturday... they should be easier to find

Well aware of those as mentioned in my post. Thank you.

Yeah, Noticed right after I posted.. I wish there were more places and more tools. 3d printing is neat, but not the only way to make things.

Maybe Rutgers engineering has a student shop you can "infiltrate"....

You can always use something like shapeways and order them printed, with that being said what do you want printed? If its not a huge job I can put them on my printers for you possibly.

A cthulhu idol (it is small) and a bust of h.p. lovecraft (i thonk it can be small but idk) for my desk at work.

This shows how small the cthulhu is

Came out pretty well. It's not as big as the one pictured, but it seems close. This was just the test print anyway.

I guess DM me if you want me to print you one. Or if you like this one you can have it.

Ok this doesn't seem bad. The one in that post is done via a resin 3d printer and I just have 2 FDMs so I can't promise the level of smoothness they got, but I am printing a quick prototype of it now and if it comes out well I would be willing to make you one with any of the colors I have on hand right now. I have 2 printers so why don't you link the other file here as well and i'll do a test print of that as well.

Check for maker spaces in your area. That will be the cheapest option.

Or work with goproto, protolabs, stratasys if you want to pay for the prints. You'll get better print quality from these guys if you choose sla printing.

Where are you located in Jersey?
