Riverview isn't half bad. But I am so confused what the news has to do with anything.

Can't tell you the best but you are right not to trust US News. I know a few hospitals that no longer submit data to US News for consideration as "best". According to those hospitals US News chooses the "best" based on "donations".

Jersey shore is great, not sure if it’s considered central here

Best for what? Like are we talking best for delivering a baby or best for open heart surgery?

The two “best” hospitals in my opinion were Princeton and St. Peter’s. Princeton is the nicest hospital I’ve ever been in, St. Peter’s is where I want to go if my life is in danger.

RWJ in New Brunswick is good for major surgery, Penn Medicine in Princeton is great for ER visits and maternity, and Jersey Shore is pretty good all around.

A little north of true central NJ i suppose. I spent 11 days in Morristown Medical Center two years ago and was very happy with my treatment. I’ve since been back for other procedures and they have all been done well and very professionally.

I went to RWJ emergency on Saturday . Staff was good, but no one is in a hurry. Could have been done in 2 hours, but it took 4 hours. Sorry I didn’t fill out the survey afterwards, there’s my comments

I wouldn't say they're shit. Hospitals just aren't usually as good as we want them to be, clinically speaking. If you're just thinking of how the lobby looks or how nice their ads are, that's one thing. I don't know about you though, but I care about their clinical outcomes.

That website is the CMS, literally the government agency that collects all that data inputs out objective scores that are easily compared among different hospitals.

Hackensack Meridian is a good hospital system. My family has had good outcomes at Riverview and Jersey Shore.

The only people I know who go to St. Peter’s are practicing Catholics, which is why I thought they were having recent troubles … not enough patients.

I couldn’t imagine non-Catholics going there given RWJ is right there, much larger, and non-religious. I’m biased, because I believe that abortion and contraceptives are essential healthcare, and Catholic hospitals should be outlawed because they refuse to provide those services. But I’m not a fan of religious-run hospitals in general. (Seventh-day Adventists seem awful, too; you find their hospitals in Florida and other regions.)

I knew someone years ago who thought Barnabas was still a Catholic hospital, and she said if she was severely burned she’d rather die than be treated at their burn unit. This friend was intelligent but it should be noted had severe religious trauma. But because of her I thought that Barnabas ditched its religious affiliation because too many non-Catholics were refusing to be treated there.

I like Hunterdon the best, but Capital health in Hopewell is outstanding as well

RWJ New Brunswick if you have anything serious ICU, ED, surgery, cancer, etc. Its a teaching/research hospital w/ Rutgers, not many in NJ. Otherwise you would need to go out of state to like Columbia, NYU, Penn Med
