Going to a concert and MetLife and will be staying somewhere in Manhattan (nothing booked yet.) Would it be better to stay the night of the concert in NJ instead?

It’s better to stay in NJ every night of the year so whatever day you concert is would be no exception
Maybe the rest of you can correct me if I’m wrong. It’s been a while.
Getting to meadowlands from NYC is straightforward as long as NJTRANSIT is going there.
Getting home after is worse. Be prepared to wait in line for a train home.
Hotels around MetLife charge Manhattan rates if there is anything happening at MetLife at night.
Options to get from your hotel in NJ to MetLife are not good. If you have a car/rental, you can drive it, but you will be waiting in line to get in, and have to pay a decent amount.

Here’s the link, they update it closer to the concert date with exact train times. From NYC, you’d change in Secaucus to a MetLife bound special trains.
Returning, you’d do the reverse, there’s shuttle trains every 10ish minutes to Secaucus, then you take any NYC-bound train back into Manhattan. You will likely wait at the MetLife station with other fans, so be prepared. Each train carries roughly a thousand people, every 10 minutes, so it depends on your artist’s popularity and whether a lot of other fans are going back to NYC. There’s usually good customer service helping you make the transfer at SEC.
The main problem with staying in NJ is that you’re competing with tens of thousands of fans for cabs, and then for road space. The nearby hotels on Rt 120 are geographically close but really not at all walkable to MetLife (unless you like walking on the side of a highway and entrance ramps without a sidewalk or shoulders).
I’d suggest staying around midtown, there’s lots of hotels there. There’s also decent options in the Long Island City/Queensboro Plaza area of Queens, and in downtown Brooklyn.
Nj has hotels. Cant go wrong.
Penn > sacacus > light rail to met life
depends on the concert end time, if its too late for you, then stay the night in NJ. If not, then take the trip back to NYC as your night can continue if you'd like.
Without knowing hotel budget, tough to say what I'd recommend as there are super cheap to super expensive for hotels within the area of Metlife.
Yes. You’re better off staying in Jersey instead. Your Uber to and from the concert will be much cheaper as well (if this is something you might plan to do)
Is Uber allowed in these days? Last I heard, rideshares weren’t allowed into the parking lot.
I’ve dropped people off for Jets games no problem. Pretty sure they had a special drop off point for rideshare.
Any recommendations on a hotel?
W hotel in Hoboken. Can take mass transit (with a couple of exchanges) or an uber to Metlife. Hoboken also has an actual nightlife compared to the hotels around Metlife

Depends on if there's train service to the Meadowlands that day. If there is, then it's not a big deal, but if not, I'd recommend staying in NJ.
