Hi folks, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to find the train schedule from the State Street, New Haven station that connects with the New Haven Union station.

Specifically the Metro North trains to NYC.

The best I'm coming up with on the Metro North site is their New Haven - NYC schedule:

https://new.mta.info/document/97606

While they list the New Haven State Street station, they don't show any trains.

On the Hartford Line site, I'm finding a Trip Planner, which is pretty cool.

https://www.hartfordline.com/plan/

But, I would feel more confident if I could just find the actual schedule of the trains that leave/arrive from the State Street Station and then I could figure out which Union Station departing trains I want to connect with.

Thanks.

EDIT: I'm overwhelmed and grateful with the extraordinary information and helpfulness.

The State Street Station is part of the Shoreline East Line, not MNRR or Hartford Line, confusingly.

I used to do this all the time, so my advice is to always be early for those State St trains. The Shoreline crews leave early or exactly on time. Ask me if you can run fast enough from State St to Union Station to make the GCT train 🙃

Just go to union station. You can walk from one to the other, or take the free downtown shuttle. But if you really want to do State St, the trip planner is on the MTA website.

Very few metro north trains go to state st and only weekdays I think. If you look at the app you will be able to search schedules between two stations. If you really want to use state st you can take ctrail between state st and union for free

Used to live near State Street station. It's annoying to find, but the simplest way I found (with the clearest display) is to click the State St. station icon on Google Maps & then select only New Haven Line trains. It should then show only the trains going all the way to GCT, like 6-8 a day. Annoyingly, they're mostly clustered in the evening rush hour it seems. I got really lucky one year that the 10:41am fit my schedule. I never did find a really clean way to see which MNRR trains go all the way to State St. from GCT, though it's not a ton. Sometimes it's not so bad a wait to just transfer at Union, if waiting 10-15 minutes is better for you than walking. (Also, it's free to ride between Union Station & State St., fyi.)

The following apps might be useful:

MTA TrainTime- schedules and tickets

MYmta - commuter rail, NYC subway and bus schedules and real time tracking

Transit - covers local buses and all local commuter rail (MetroNorth, hartford line, shoreline east). Can be used in NYC too.

All Hartford Line trains stop at State Street, as well as most Shore Line East trains except for early mornings and late nights when the station is stupidly closed. During the week, some MNRR trains serve it but most don't as Union is where the crews work out of and where the yard is. I wish there was more MNRR service to State Street.

Amtrak Northeast Regionals that run along the shore to/from Boston and NYC/Washington/VA don't stop at State Street, as well as Acela services and the Vermonter.
