Sounds like you overmixed it. Gluten causes it to act Ike that. Don’t use a mixer, hand knead it. You only need to knead it about 10 times. Also seems like your batter is too thick. I’d recommend a little bit more liquid. These should help.

Edit to add: YouTube is great for this as well so you can see what’s it’s supposed to look like.

Okay I’ll give that a shot. That was my first time trying it so I’ll have to watch some YouTube vids next time
