Hi guys,

Our garage was broken into and our lovely bikes were stolen.

First bike (in photos): Specialized Sirrus 1.0 in gloss black and charcoal satin, size medium. Serial Number: WSBC011449732R

Second bike (no photos): older specialized with road handlebars, black handlebar wraps, 27 speed, carbon forks and seatpost, had a u-lock locked around the handlebars. Serial Number: UD102328

Any ideas on other things we can try to get these returned? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately they are probably long gone. I live not too far from you on cottage. Sorry to hear this. Our home/renters insurance paid for a theft we had last year. That may be ur best bet to getting them replaced.

+1 for this.

I had a buddy just last week whose bike was stolen from UConn campus in storrs. He found it on Facebook marketplace and got it back from the guy in new Haven. He said the guy had 100+ bicycles in the back of a cargo truck

Thinking about moving to east rock. Is crime really that bad over there or is it just bikes?

Crime here is essentially nonexistent. If you leave your bike out in the open, unlocked, you'll probably get it stolen, but thats true for literally anywhere. This guy unfortunately had his garage broken into but thats not very common.

They're likely being sold in NYC.

Wouldn’t hold out much hope for the Creedence.
