I do it everyday. Rt34 to Rt8, never any traffic unless there's an accident or the state decides to close a lane for construction (which they do occasionally). Same with the drive home. Traffic is always going the opposite direction.

Edit: school busses on 34 are a bitch but very narrow window 7:20 till about 7:35.
