It looks like it's raining New Years Eve, so even if you were in the Portsmouth area and wanted to do their First Night thing, it might be a bit unpleasantly "juicy".

You can always go anyways, and if it's too wet outside, check some of the events going on indoors.

Not everything revolves around hopping the bars, and there are usually fireworks early in the night.

Funspot? Skiing? Escape Room? Chinese food? Movie? Bowling? (You should make reservations for some of these just in case)

i still have my Claremont First Night '98 lapel button. was a crazy night. I think Boccia's stayed open late, and between that and the Chamber of Commerce, the tremont square bullpen was basically Times Square. And you could walk all the way up to the middle school, and they had grape juice. I can't remember what else there was but it was 0 degrees and almost a mile so it was one happening night. I was 14 if that sounds any less creepy

It’s a lot different now their is free bus transportation all over town and 1 dollar gets you a pin and everything else this year. You got bowling, swimming, community center, special shows such as concerts, and wrestling I think. Snowshoeing, late night walks, skiing and tubing at arrowhead and at midnight their will be fireworks to kick off the new year.

So, following all of the advice given, I stole a bottle of prosecco, bought some illegal fireworks, and I'm going to set them all on fire and my friend's garage. It seems like it's going to be a really fun New Year's Thank you everybody 🤣
