Does the ACLU of NH still support civil liberties, or are they with the national organization on stepping back from supporting free speech especially for unpopular groups?

It’s too bad what they’ve become. It’s unpopular speech (even speech I don’t agree with) that needs the most protection.

I'll vote for the national view. The ACLU is useless. They don't defend the 2A community. That is a, dare I say God given right enshrined in the constitution. Like it or not.

I wasn't too upset at them for leaving the 2A to other groups. There are plenty of people who would donate to support the rest of the bill of rights who might have issues with guns, and the ACLU getting their money to defend the 1st, 4th, and 5th amendments was great.
The problem came when they started letting modern progressive politics override their commitment to basic civil liberties. They didn't need to get involved in the gay wedding cakes thing, for example.

Not sure. Back when I used to be a member I remember when they sent out memos refusing to support the Heller case.

Point made, they just want money from donors and could careless about rights.

The fourth image would suggest the latter case.

Unfortunate it seems many once great institutions are using their long earned and deserved reputations of the past to now quickly throw that away in the name of political expediency.

Institutions are prizes for whoever can play politics well enough to get control of them. What happened to the ACLU isn't the result of short term political expediency.
