Why would you lie? Easy to give a false belief that you’re correct and attempting to agree with a unnecessary public service announcement.

I find it comical you think I’m being stupid pointing out an unnecessary mother hen post regarding normal winter traffic conditions…yet you’re replying to that stupidity.

Double down on that bud, double down on that 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

Her post is suggesting that she saw some of the same idiotic behavior I saw yesterday. It shouldn't be necessary, you're right about that but it seems that it is necessary. What isn't necessary however, is cunts commenting cunty things on a post that should be non controversial. You just seem like a jerk.

So yesterday, a bunch of lights by me had zero power, not even flashing red or yellow. In this instance, the police set up stop signs for the lesser streets to come out onto the main road but the main road was so dark with no power around that it was given a right of way with no stopping.

You don't need to get a perfect score to pass the driver's test. You also don't always know which questions you got wrong. And it's something you do when you're a teenager. Guarantee that plenty of people pass the test and don't know this rule.

I agree that people should know this if they're driving around. But I also saw people ignore it yesterday at lights in Northwood. Most of us came to a stop, and then others blew right through. Obviously some people need to hear it.

reddit doesn't charge for each word you read. why are you so hot about this? if it doesn't apply to you, move on. be proud of yourself; you already knew something others did not. you remembered more from driver's ed than others. go you.

I was at the Exit 11 interchange off the FE Turnpike and noticed that the lights were flashing yellow and that there was a utility truck on the sidewalk. So it looks like a power problem. I would assume that you have one side flashing yellow and another flashing red if there is power.

Guy's just a jackass, there was a set of dead lights in Andover, MA yesterday where I almost watched someone who doesn't know this T-bone a person who had waited patiently to left turn across the intersection. At least they had good brakes but many people forget or don't know or panic

The correct thing to do is stop, roll down your window, then shout "WELCOME TO THE THUNDERDOME" and rev your engine. Then, of course, everyone goes all at once.

Oops. I thought I had the right away since I was on 106 or 28 and not approaching either route from 140 or 107. 107 was a free for all last night and still was this morning.

Even 4 way stops are a free for all. So many people just try to sneak through with the person in front of them.

Larger road gets the "right of way" with caution in my book. I 100 expect someone coming out of a side street to stop.

pfroyjr t1_j1ir073 wrote

Lol. One road is typically more the primary road. When in doubt yield. It's been a long time since I went through the drivers Ed manual, but I taught my daughter and she's totaled 2 cars in the last 3 years by looking at the phone and not paying enough attention.

In the end I think all drivers should exercise caution and pay attention. A little common sense goes a long way. If only it was more common ha ha ha

Nobody even knows how to properly navigate a 4 way stop these days either.

mackerdoots t1_j1jbu89 wrote

That’s not true. Main roads will usually get a blinking yellow and cross traffic will get a blinking red. Don’t ever assume all sides are blinking red

I just take a swig of my bud light and plow on thru the light (with no seatbelt on of course).

Unless it’s a roundabout or rotary, in that case continue with the usual free-for-all.

That's the New Hampshire way. Today I came upon a driver who had their left turn signal on although they were as far right as possible on the one northbound lane of Rte 3 in Pembroke. I stopped. They turned left. That's a NH driver for you. Worst around.

This is totally unrelated but for some reason this sounds like an anachronistic euphemism for the Nazi party

This is the same sub that says driving 90mph on rt16 is OK.

You aren't going to get much on this topic.

Not when the powers fully out. The rule for when traffic lights are out is to come to a stop at the light and to treat the intersection or roadway as a regular stop. If it is a four-way intersection, treat it like a four-way stop. If it is a two- or three-way intersection, treat it as a two- or three-way stop, respectively.

KingBubbaBouy1 t1_j1luy2g wrote

You’re wrong! Technically it actually is a free for all.. you would not get ticketed for not stopping…

Oh my god yes I work at the Target in Somersworth and last Friday the power was out for the whole street. There are like 10 traffic lights the whole route and since nobody was stopping for them, it basically meant there were 10 opportunities for me to get my car wrecked by some idiot flying out into the intersection just because they didn't know you have to stop.
