I thought in order to opt out of car insurance in New Hampshire you had to provide documentation that you were self ensuring that you had the funds on hand to do so I would be suing everybody

I believe the car simply cannot be under a loan, etc. so if you have a paid off shit box, you’re all set to drive uninsured. At least that was the case a decade ago when I couldn’t afford insurance

You are correct. As long as you have no note on the car you can drive uninsured. Car hit mine and wife had to come pick him up as the car was a total loss. Wife offhandedly makes a comment about insurance covering it when he admitted that it lapsed and he no longer has any on it. Thought the cop was going to have to deescalate the situation.
