That quick little moment on 101 through Dublin never disappoints. Beautiful picture.

It’s weird. It’s 50/50 depending in where I look. Lots of places (even Google Maps) have it as Dublin Pond while other articles here and there reference it as Dublin Lake. I’ve heard most people in the area refer to it as Dublin Pond and a a few say Dublin Lake. Sounds like it’s unsettled, though I know there is a technical delineation between a pond and lake.

I agree my friend. I’m over in Keene. My whole life it’s been called Dublin lake. I know exactly where you took that photo. I was just being a smart ass, lol

I haven’t heard it called being “pond” until recently. My dad always called it Dublin lake. My mom. All our family. Are you from around here? My family has been here since the 1600’s so maybe it’s a generational thing?

Nah, recently moved to the Peterborough area from Texas. In the time we’ve been here, we’ve had quite a few of our friends and acquaintances reference it and most have called it Dublin Pond. Tbf, the whole pond concept is new as we don’t have them in Texas, all we had were manmade lakes. Still plenty of local nuances to learn.

Well welcome to NH my friend. As for myself my family is still in the area. We founded the town of Rindge and we have a cemetery with all our family members.

If you need the lingo, ask away 👍🏻

I couldn’t imagine land without lakes and mountains. I would like to visit Texas though

Appreciate it! It’s definitely different. We’re absolutely loving it here, though!

Having four real seasons, for one. This fall was spectacular! I love colder weather, so I’m enjoying it, too. Obviously much more scenic here. We love the outdoors so we’re really enjoying all the hiking, fishing, etc.. In general, the people here are much kinder, more patient, and generally friendlier. I also find the political climate much less polarizing. I really only miss the Mexican food.
