Please add a "BALANCE OF POWER NH HOUSE" section to your election coverage in the future. There are like 500 races, if you don't count them up for me I'm never going to know who won.

100% agree. Balance of power in NH House/Senate/Executive Council has such an impact on the state but it takes a google detective search to figure out who is gaining seats.

Agree, even through the national news sites, I had to machete through the jungle to find out who won the races. For the record WCVB is not much better Afro MA politics, and their app/site is basically the same.

The clerk of the NH House recently tweeted that it's possible we'll get a 200-200 split.

That would be ... interesting.

You know, one of my predictions was that NH actually shifted ever so slightly bluer through the pandemic and I might be right here. It's like the opposite of Florida where retires flooded the states en masse, NH gained a small bit of blue work from home voters from greater Boston.

This is unusual since a lot of immigration into the state are red voters from Mass seeking to move to NH as a tax haven. It's one of the reasons why Salem and Derry are such red strongholds relative to swingy cities like Manchester.

I'm fairly convinced that once Sununu retires that the GOP in NH is just going to implode entirely.

Yup, that's me! No need to pay Boston housing prices if I don't need to head to the office, and now for the same price I get a nice backyard and trees. People I tell keep assuming I moved because of taxes but that's kind of just a cherry on top

I think you're right, and I think many people having to utilize the social safety net to get through the pandemic too might have bad something to do with it. I could see that having softened some of the more bootstrappy attitudes out there. And, we've been sending an all blue Congressional delegation to DC for a while now. I think Poo-poo Canoe-nu is probably a bit of an aberration/anachronism at this point, and getting by only on name recognition or whatever.

The official NH House Clerk account just tweeted that a 200-200 House is a possibility.

WMUR sets a very low bar for performance across the board. I have never experienced a more error prone team from bottom to top. The only saving grace is the weather team, they are generally the shining stars.

But they literally have a balance of power map for US House and Senate, and I can find that info anywhere. All they would have to do would be make a county level map of New Hampshire do the same thing. It seems like such an easy thing to do.

I doubt they have the “programming” capacity to do a balance of power for NH senate and house. Doubtful they have any sort of data scientist or even analyst on their payroll.

But indeed, a huge oversight by them. This reporting on NH House and Senate is useless without context.

I would also like to see a ward-level vote breakdown, but good luck with that when they can’t even do a balance of power visualization.

There's no money in state elections. Rich people won again. Rich people's propaganda keeping rich people policies in power.

WMUR has always been amateur hour. They get the new grads from college before they move on to a bigger station. It’s bloody awful on the weekend when it’s just the kids running the show.

All the more reason to have a fancy infographic to make people go to WMUR instead of the AP. But also I don't see that the associated press is covering the New Hampshire State Congressional elections. Also also W dumb U R is a massive stretch and took me a while to even get what you meant. try WMURetarted it's just as stupid but it won't take as long to comprehend.
