I booked October 16th-20th up at Attitash Mountain Village. Would be driving up from CT. Had originally intended to do the week prior but the wife has training at work that she can't miss. I'm a little concerned it could be too late?

Depends on the winds.

Once foliage hits, it’s good until winds hit.

Peak foliage estimator says it’s likely a week too late.

We’re just starting to get some color now in the Mount Washington Valley. It’s late this year. You may be more okay than you think.

Source: I own a house across the street from AMV.

Make sure to enjoy your ride up. If you’re late then northern Mass to southern NH is likely good.

If this is the case, back roads will provide a better experience than 93.

Thanks for the info! Well I can wait another week to cancel without losing my deposit. We stayed at AMV a couple years back. Seems to have a nice mix of natural beauty with enough shopping in North Conway to keep the wife happy. Wanted to do Mt Washington Auto Rd again & would be bring my gravel bike as well.

Remember - peak foliage moves down from the north. Just because the northcountry is past peak doesn't mean moosilauke or central NH is yet!

that's probably the latest i would recommend. You'll have less ppl too and southern NH should have plenty for you to enjoy on the way up. I would highly recommend driving through the lakes region beforehand then.

Probably a little late for that area but it will still be plenty beautiful! And you can always drive a bit to find spectacular pockets of color if need be.
