I'd appreciate any input or advice if this is normal for Concord or NH in general at the moment.

We received a ticket during covid times, more than year ago. I called city parking division to ask to appeal it. At the time they said court is closed due to covid. Now with time passed and courts open I call from time to time and get assurance they'll have it scheduled but nothing happens. Its been going like this for past 5 months.
Would any state laws govern this or maybe any Concord NH powers could help resolve this ?
Can city drag this for any amount of time ?
The goal is to have appeal hearing or city dropping the ticket

Thank you

Dude if they haven’t came at you for it just forget about. For Christ’s sake their probably just wondering what the hell kind of Good Samaritan actually harasses the gov about a ticket that slips through the cracks.

But also keep notes of the calls you made/contact you attempted. Cause.... paperwork and bureaucracy.

Good call. An email summarizing the outreach to date and sent to the authority would not be a bad idea.

Which authority would you suggest ?

City Parking, flowed by a general contact email to the City Clerk General email. It'll probably get lost in their inbox, but then you can prove you "did everything."

How much was your ticket ? Was it a regular parking ticket that are like $10 or was it a snow ban parking ticket that cost $100? I suggest emailing the police officer that heads the parking division. His email is listed on the link I’m providing. Just scroll to the bottom until you see David’s name. That was who i emailed and have had to on two occasions and gotten a response from either him or one of the actual parking enforcement officers.

*playing devils advocate here:

What do you mean you got a ticket during “covid times “? I only ask because I live downtown and you’ve always had to pay parking except on Sunday no matter if covid was around or not. And a quick fyi —-the garages are free both Saturday and Sunday. I tend to utilize the garages. The garages are also cheaper and 50cent and hour while street parking is $1 an hour.

Thanks for suggestion, I can email him. I wonder when I call parking dept Im calling lady that sits next to him and if it changes anything but will try.

Yes It is small ticket, meter was paid, not giving up specifics ticket was for something you would not know unless you are local. Covid times - I meant to explain why why process was stalled initially.

Can they drag this forever ?
