We make syrup. It’s thick. And when done long enough you know all the signs of it being done.

Exactly, thick, and I’m guessing a deep brown color? The sugar content being higher then the water makes it thicker and darker. I know some people like their syrup more liquid, I prefer it dark and rich and ooozing haha
