I’m going to be visiting Mt. Washington alone for a long weekend in April/May. What are some things to do around there? Any good restaurants? Fun antique stores or little towns within 100 miles? Anything would help. Kind of going on a whim.

The entire state, VT and ME (and even Canada) are within 100 miles of Mt Washington.

Yes. We measure distance in time. 100 in NH, VT is like 3 hours + driving.

White Mountain Cider Co. is great and located in Bartlett on 302. They close for a few weeks annually, so check the dates if you decide to go. But I mean, the entire area is riddled with big and small breweries, antique shops, gift shops, hikes, ect. What are you specifically looking to do? Small hikes by yourself? Or just sightseeing?

Go to Littleton. Lincoln is overrated. Better shops and restaurants in Littleton. Check our Weeks State Park in Lancaster. Cool views. Check out Polish Princess - amazing bakery. Stop at Rek-lis in Bethlehem as well. Fun place.

But you might not have service in all parts of MWV.

I’m just referring to “pre-trip” research into places to see, restaurants to check out, etc. I find Google maps has most of the info the OP is talking about

North Conway is going to be the "biggest" small town nearby, lots of shops and restaurants there

Just stayed at the Mt Washington hotel last weekend...18 min up the road in Whitefield you can get the best burger I have had in a VERY long time at Sunny and Jillian's Pizza and Pub. Small, local kinda place on the town circle. Lots of character and amazing service.

We did...great rates (for them) with their "Spring discount". Cross country skiied twice and snowshoed once. Awesome experience and very light crowd this time of year

Cool! That's where I'm staying too. It's my first time traveling alone and I wanted to do it in style. Seems like a fancy place.

How is the driving around there? Did you do any? I was thinking about driving to Portland, ME which is like a 2 hour drive... I followed it on Google maps and it seemed doable.

Driving towards Conway on 302 is beautiful. Portland is also a blast...more breweries per capita than anywhere else in the US. Down by the water is nice and Old Port has tons of shops and restaurants. Also a nice place to spend a weekend! Have fun...I'm guessing you're gonna love it.
