Kidderville is just a village in Colebrook - it doesn't have laws of its own.

Colebrook was a starch manufacturing hub (from potatoes) in the 1880s or so so maybe it had some laundry-related ordinances.

But in general, maps of "interesting facts" found online are complete and utter hogwash.

It is true, that most of these "SuperFacts" and "Fact of the Day" style accounts post a lot of claims without any source or substance. However, as I mention in my comment on this thread, I checked all the others. And to my surprise, all of them (except for one) are true, no matter how dumd they may seem today.

Not necessarily. There are tons of "weird" laws on the books from a century or more ago that made sense at the time. They are just not enforced anymore and there is no political motivation to spend the effort to remove them.

Nonetheless, you should assume that any unsourced collection of "interesting facts" is total BS clickbait until proven otherwise.

The default is that they're crap. The default is almost always correct.

Isn’t how it usually works is the law doesn’t actually say “x is illegal” but these “strange laws” reports take the actual law and twist the wording in such a way that they are technically correct

Like, idk maybe there’s some decency statute still on the books that would apply to the stated scenario l, but it’s not actually that specific

Sure but unlike in VT, villages in NH are not incorporated as legal entities and have no power. So Colebrook could have a law on this but Kidder ville specifically could not

There are a lot of strange laws in NH like...

On Sundays, citizens in New Hampshire may not pee while looking up.

No person, while hunting or obviously on his way to or from hunting may have a ferret in his possession, custody or control.

Definitely seems to be the case! I assumed that you were being sarcastic, but those laws do exist, haha.

I have found fact-checking articles on every claim in that image, besides this New Hampshire one. Well, one Daily Beast article makes a mention of that law, but the article is behind paywall.

Is it a town ordinance as opposed to a law?

It's not real, Kidderville is an unofficial village and can't gave any laws of its own.
