Any one know what the hell happened in Bennington and a boy died? I'm seeing posts on other platforms and I'm being solicited to donate to to a GoFundMe for the family but there is absolutely zero details except a young boy died. I find it incredibly suspicious at how hushed the whole situation is. Usually (I can't believe I'm saying this like it's a normal occurrence) when a kid in our area dies the school district does a grief counseling email and there's an outpouring of love and condolences. But with this case If anyone asks what happened they are told they don't need to know the details and then immediately removed from the thread. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wanted to donate because I love my community, but after I've seen how people are being treated I'm not so sure....

I’m in Peterborough and had dinner in Bennington tonight. First I’ve heard anything.

Update: Just did some FB sleuthing and even the town’s Emergency Management FB Page has referenced it. Very little detail available, though.

Sounds like a teen suicide.

Maybe the family asked to not make it public.

Then don't ask for food and money from strangers on a public forum and don't tell people to fuck off when they ask what happen. It doesn't make people sympathetic. If anything, the closed lipped cryptic messages make people suspicious. Kids do dumb shit all the time but suicide is the ultimate tragedy. Unfortunately, it's on the rise in NH. Pretty sure this is the 8th kid in the last year or two... 2nd from that school. Grief is it's own sort of monster. I hope the family is getting the mental health help they need, because clearly, suffering in silence is not the answer.

Or mind your own fucking business and move on! Why the fuck are you entitled to the details of someone’s grief. This is the definition of “not about you”. I really hope you’re a transplant flatlander and not homegrown Shire folk, because this reply if fucking embarrassing.

Have to agree with OP here. Can't have your cake and eat it too. If they wanted privacy then a GoFundMe and Meal Train announcement on FB isn't the way to go. My heart goes out to the boy who thought the only answer was to end things. Tragic.

No one asked what means the kid chose or who found him or how long they preformed CPR. Fuck. No one wants to know that shit. People were wondering if it was a car accident, house fire, fell through the ice, snowboard accident, sudden illness... It's natural to question why a child would die suddenly. It doesn't mean people have ill intentions.

Congratulations on proving OP's point! Geeze, if you're a representation of the family of this poor kid I will gladly move along. Douche bags don't get my sympathy or money. BTW I'm a NH native. Your use of Shire folk is embarrassing.
