The pandemic definitely hurt them a bit but it was still probably my favorite restaurant in the state. Things weren't always perfect but they were generally excellent, which is saying a lot for a relatively inexpensive restaurant!

I personally preferred Republic before they merged them.

We haven’t been there since Covid, but before that it was one of our favorite restaurants

That’s really great news. The people who worked there were as wonderful as the food. While I personally think the garlic could be just too much, I’ve had many very nice meals and times at CE.

Am I the only one that had a kinda disappointing time there? I went on a date there last summer and I can’t remember what I had…. Some meatball thing and the center was cold. My ex liked his food and I liked the ambiance but didn’t think the food was anything special

It was fantastic in its prime but has struggled a bit since the pandemic. I think maybe they got stretched a bit thin combining the Campo & Republic menus in one place, and probably had staffing issues like everywhere else. I've got my fingers crossed the new owners make the most of its legacy.

Oh yeah that could def be it. My ex had talked it up so much (I guess he heard from his coworkers how fab it was) that I was just surprised how meh the food was despite the restaurant being packed. The menu and ambiance was just what I liked (elevated and trendy) but it just …. Wasn’t that great.

Guess I need to scrounge up a new date for when it reopens to try again 😂
