Hi, my brother tasked me with getting him a Gibson guitar, I live in Mass so I was thinking driving up to NH and check out some stores in Manchester. Is there any store that I should definitely check out ?

You're best off buying from Sweetwater most guitar stores have a stupid high markup, but that's just my opinion I'm sure someone will post with a good option I never set foot in stores.

I don't know how much you're into guitars, but if your brother lives in a different state that is warmer than NH than he's going to need to let his guitar sit in its case for a minimum of a day or more, because depending on the finish it can do something called "checking". It's when the finish cracks due to expanding and contracting for old vintage guitars it looks great and I don't mind buying one, but if it's brand new and has a finish that isn't a polyurethane like nitrocellulose you run the risk of it cracking if it has drastic changes in temperature.

I've lived all over, so sometimes my gear came from the east coast during winter to AZ where it's was 75 in February, so I've had to be cautious.

Manchester music mill has a ton of great gear. Buy the tokai love rock they have and save some $ on a much better LP

Music Mill would be my choice too. bought a sweet strat there, and a used keyboard (there is a separate used stuff shop in the back)

One plaza over from the Guitar Center is a store called Music & Arts. Went there to get a clarinet for my kid. They had decent prices and selection of guitars, albeit small. Worth checking out.

Sucks cause my dad worked for Daddy's Junky Music when I was a kid. Moved away from the state for 20 years and just got back and learned they went out of business a while ago. I went there for bass lessons in high school.

Another vote for music mill, I won't go anywhere else. Awesome people and usually they'll give you a little discount if you ask. Plus you can see pretty much their entire stock (except for very new stuff) on reverb.
