While I do agree, at the end of the day they will make the decision based on who can appear to provide the safest, most stable environment for the child.

Happily, from what I've seen it's hands down the father who has the most stable career and home and environment. As well as it's where his kid has grown up all of his friends are there, school, etc

Those things will also be huge deciding factors. As well as the support system that both parents have. If mom is moving with her bf to a place where she knows no one, while dad stays here and has a support system of family and friends to help (even her own family being here helps him), the judges will take that into consideration as well.
