The only nomination I'd give Till is best actress for Danielle, and I thought she had it locked in. I do think the film's flaws might have got in her way, but yeah she deserved it especially over Ana de Armas.
I for one am absolutely tired of black trauma/general POC trauma movies.
I am just tired of having the representation on screen being mostly the horiffic pain that was suffered by POC. I at this point refuse to watch them and I think it's the same for others
I don't think she deserved for Knives Out either ðŸ˜. I do think she was good but nothing that stood out from other performances that year.
It seemed to me the Academy took the public outcry as "proof" the film was noteworthy somehow. Almost in the sense of even if it disgusts you, it's high art for invoking strong emotions. As well as another proof they have a boner for bad and controversial biopics.

Because it wasn't that great honestly. It's a pretty standard biopic with great performances. Not to mention, nobody went to see it in theaters.
