No, it wasn’t. It was just before.

That didn't resurrect his career. Iron man did

Iron Man sent him to the stratosphere, but he’d been clean and working on good projects with quality people for five years at that point.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Good Night and Good Luck, and Zodiac all came out before Iron Man IIRC.

I stand corrected. I loved kiss kiss bang bang but I saw that after iron man. Thanks for the correction.

I would argue that Marvel are the one who resurrected his carrier. He became popular after Iron Man.

it's great that RJD got clean and found work again, but i feel like he's this generation's john wayne
stark is just him, sherlock is just him with a weak brit accent, going all the way back to less than zero - it's just, him (he tried in chaplin, but there's a reason that film is mostly forgotten)
has there ever been a more overpaid/over-hyped/underwhelming actor? he is to film what adam sandler was to comedy; not really good at it, but sure draws a crowd
and if this seems harsh, remember he's a billionaire who's not very good at his job

This happened before his drug charges and subsequent failings, and resurrection. Great film though.
