Action movies are dumb fun. The plot doesn't really matter too much. They aren't trying to make the next best picture winner. They are "turn your brain off" movies for a reason.

Most action movies have the simplest plots because they're made for the viewer to just get to enjoy the action. For it's time maybe the most complex action movie was Inception but ultimately there's always a very simple goal in mind for all these characters.

Not at the time of watching it, usually, but afterward I almost always have trouble telling you what the plot was or what decisions drove the narrative. I've seen the Mission Impossible movies multiple times, but to this day I could not tell you the plots of any of them with any level of confidence. On the upside, though, it usually means that I can rewatch action movies as many times as I want and it's like I'm watching it for the first time again!

At the end, I’ve enjoyed the experience more or less, I suppose as an explosion of color and sound, but I can’t remember the plot really. The Avengers films were the worst like this for me.

Depends on the movie. I can’t recall the plot of every James Bond or Mission Impossible because they all get jumbled together as the series’ go on, plus there’s a ton of details and characters surrounding these plots.

Yes, but it doesn't bother me. I will watch Star Wars and simply enjoy it. Then in later conversations or watching a you tuber ill learn there was a lot of details that I didn't pay attention to. So then sometimes Ill watch it again and enjoy it a second time too

I am in the movie business and had this problem with almost ALL movies when I was growing up. I got the feel, the sense of adults moving through the world with purpose, and people getting stuff done. That was enough for me. Took me 15 years to understand why Hans wanted the FBI to shut down the grid (shut it down. shut it down now!)

No, sorry. But I confess I forget the plot of watched movies pretty fast. Let's say 6 months minimum and I forgot portions, if not worse.

Modern action movies don’t really have plots. They’re more like following a video game walkthrough, just watching the player level up and defeat bosses.

I feel like there's no point in trying to reason with someone who can't keep track of a plot as simple as "they stole his car and killed his dog, so now he's going to kill them all". Like either you're trolling, or you're not actually human in the ways that matter.

Aside from John Wick I find your examples quite bad. If you can't follow these movies then that is a bit strange. If it's John Wick or Steven Seagal movies then it's more normal.

Yeah, I had bad ADD but not the hyper kind and actually enjoy slow movies over fast paced ones.
