It’s an honest opinion. 2 has the perfect ending.
3 just rehashes a few of the themes and does them all worse.
I’ve seen it many time and even watched it with Coppola’s commentary before watching Coda.

So a sopranos ending.

No, the literal ending to Part II.

Coda is the best version but, sadly, still terrible. I love the first two, and was barely able to sit through Coda. It feels like a 90s TV movie.

I prefer the Coda version.

Coda is fantastic. Just re-watched it and really e enjoyed the cut of the film. However I am partial to the 1991 version.

What’s the 91’ cut? I had seen the recent Coda version and apart from the opening and closing scenes, I didn’t notice a difference from the original.

Great. Now I have to watch coda and 91 to feel the differences. 😂

Yes, terrible.. and Garcia is such a bad actor, or has bad directing. I watched it recently and what stuck with me is that he’s always trying to be smooth, iirc he does not look a hot tempered youngster

Coda made a few small changes that heavily improved the movie

I think the Coda version is better, and if you watch the 1991 version first the difference might be distracting to you. Some people seem to dislike Coda simply because the changes are so drastic that they can't focus on the story.

The Godfather Coda: the Death of Michael Corleone is the best version. It's tighter, the plot is easier to follow, and it has a poignant ending.
