With the exception of the endless DC/WB reboots because they can't get their shit together, adapting existing comic book IP is not remaking old movies, that's just a newer variation on adapting popular books for the big screen.

As a child of the 70s/80s I can't get enough of seeing my old comic books brought to life on the big screen. Thats something every fan has dreamt about for decades. We just happen to be in a time where doing that is finally possible.

I'm not saying all the Marvel content is top-notch but neither was the source material. They were comic books for kids, not collections of Shakespearean sonnets.
