Seventh Seal is just as dark intellectually as Seven. (Also far more complex.) It’s just not as intense I’d say. But it takes place during plague times and its most famous scene is a disillusioned knight playing chess with death.
Seven is the more “enjoyable” of the two, though, being a super engaging thriller.
Se7en
Seven is better
The seventh seal is consistently in the conversation for greatest movie of all time. In the most recent sight and sound poll it was 35th for critics and 31st for directors. I love Seven, it's a great movie but The Seventh Seal is one of the greatest movies ever made
They’re both good.
Youll finally know what’s on the box
I did not like Se7en when I first saw it in theaters. I found it just one cliche after another. But on subsequent viewings, I’ve grown to really like it and understand the cliches were part of the point.
Seven one of my fav movies of all time but as someone already said it’s dark

I think that if you are willing to see any of these movies you should have sufficient film background to make that choice on your own, just by looking at the trailer ou reading the sinopse.

I didn’t find Seventh Sea confusing at all. But it’s certainly more complex and not the entertaining ride Seven is. More significantly it is far more depressing than Seven in my eyes. Seven is about evil incarnate but it’s not really applicable to daily life; it’s a serial killer boogeyman movie. (And Fincher has made a better serial killer movie.) The Seventh Seal is about the inevitability of death and pointlessness of life. Far more alarming!!
Seen both, liked both. It kinda depends on the mood you have but I liked se7en more.
The Seventh Seal is a much better movie than Se7en,
> or is it really a movie that I need to be very focused on?
It is, although I don't think it's especially difficult or confusing. Mostly it says what it has to say quite openly

I haven't watched Seventh Seal but I'd be careful with Se7en. It's a phenomenal film but it's just incredible dark. A few scenes are deeply twisted. Definitely a film that will stick with you for a few days-whether you want it to or not
