I've seen her acceptance speech mentioned and quoted in books. Even in recent ones. People who never saw any of her movies still remember her oscar speech and joke about it.

Huh! I actually hadn't ever seen it, or if I have, I have no recollection of it. There are only a few Oscar acceptance speeches from actors that come to mind to me: Sally Field's "you like me" speech, Marlon Brandon's subbing in Sacheen Littlefeather, and Cuba Gooding Jr.'s jump-for-joy speech. But I'd stand by saying that far more people have seen Paltrow in Iron Man/ the Avengers: Endgame than have seen her Oscar speech—I mean that's not even a close call.

There were 3 minutes of ugly crying, bad acting, "I don't feel very deserving", a long list of names (everyone under the sun she'd ever met), prasing Harvey, totally unimpressed audience, her own parents looked uncomfortable and embarrassed. Even Jolie's creepy incest speech a year later wasn't that painful.
