Late 90s, low-budget, body horror complete with grotesque amphibian creatures, gristle and bone guns, graphic violence, gore, and invasive penetrations. It’s all trademark Cronenberg.

Probably one of the best film finales of that era too. I struggled to make sense of what I was seeing when I watched it back in ‘99, but the great revelatory ending brought it all into focus. I rank it right below The Brood and above Scanners.
