For me it was Jesus of Nazareth when I was around 15 yeard old from what I can remember. It was 6 hours and a half long on TV so I guess it was displayed without ads because now I see it's listed as 382 minutes.

The hateful eight but the wolf of wallstreet felt longer and I've never seen the entire cinema go straight to the toilet after credits
I think it must be Tuntematon sotilas/ The unknown soldier which I saw 2019(?). 180 minutes and I loved it

Shoah (1985) is probably the longest I've sat through in one sitting
O.J. Made in America is a 467 minute long documentary and the longest film to win an oscar (best Documentary feature). It was re-edited and shown on tv as a miniseries. If that counts.
Aside from that, Once Upon a Time In America (229), Lawrence of Arabia (216), Ben Hur (212), The Irishman (209), Apocalypse Now (202). A few other classic 200+ movies that I haven't seen yet
I've binged the whole Lord of the Rings expanded editions. Combined its around 715 minutes
Thought the mariners one was pretty awesome too.
Mysteries of Lisbon. I’m not usually a fan of excessive runtimes but despite being 272 minutes long this is one of my favorite films.

As far as a theatrical movie, it'd be Branagh's Hamlet on DVD probably in 2011 before Thor came out.

There's no amazing revelation, no stunning human truth revealed, no emotional crescendo or really any worthwhile conflict to resolve. No devastating reveal, no amazing writing, no "oh man you gotta watch this part!"
It has its rabid snob fans, who love to chime in and tell me how I didn't get it, but this movie is the most cliche of all examples of what a pretentious indie film is. Well, between this and Fando y Lis.
It's cool to love the movies, but it'd be stupid to recommend normal people to watch them.
The movie is an exercise in style, the same story could've been told in an hour.
I mentioned how dull it was last night and a salty fanboy said

The day after I watched this uselessly long movie, I watched the 5 hour cut of Fanny & Alexander - that's an actual good movie. I recommend that one instead.
It you're a salty rabid fan don't @ me, I don't care. Unless you have an argument about why we needed 8 minute long shots of cows to truly understand the townspeople's fears and worry about money, and how there's just gosh darn it no other way to tell this story - I've heard it all before.
edit: If you really want to see a Bela Tarr movie, watch Werckmeister Harmonies. 10x better than Satantango.
Great flick, saw it in the theater originally. Doesn't get a lot of attention, it seems. The dreams still haunt me.
How Yukong Moved the Mountains
Lovely BBC documentary that took a sweeping look at every day life in the last years of the Cultural Revolution in China. I’ll probably rewatch it again this winter as I work from home, it’s 12 hours, but time enjoyably spent.
Gone with the Wind and this is the version with the music in the beginning end and the intermission
I'm pretty sure the longest movie I've ever watched all the way through is Shoa at 9:26.
It was worth it.

Longest film I saw in a cinema was Satantango around 7 1/2 hours. Had a couple of intermissions.
There are much longer movies out there but now Im older I just don't have the time.
It's an extremely rough one sitting watch due to the content.
Sátántangó is a very... movie for movie people. It's 12 parts are a struggle to get through.
I have not been able to locate that, but it's on my watch list.

I watched Fanny and Alexander, the TV version in a sitting. That’s a hell of a film. The theatrical cut is only 3 hours or so, the full TV version is over 5 hours. It’s really something. Highly recommended to anyone.
Solaris is not quite that long. I absolutely love it though.
I saw the complete Dekalog in the theater: 572 minutes plus 3 intermissions.
The Best of Youth. Italian movie, not just long but really good.

I thought it was The Thin Red Line, it certainly felt like the longest, but that was only 2:50.
