Brooke Shields' movies are so creepy and inappropriate. Imagine your entire film career being reduced to movies which seemed so exploitative of her.

The irony is that Shields thinks THE BLUE LAGOON, the most wholesome of her most popular movies, is the one where it went too far.

THE BLUE LAGOON, at least, had her co-star be close to her age and they used a body double.

PRETTY BABY is just horrifying. I saw it once and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. ENDLESS LOVE basically had her engage in explicit sex scenes with her older co-star.

I think SUDDENLY SUSAN, the sitcom, was her best work as an actress but her movies are so creepy. But I remember that Shields was regarded as a sex-symbol in the 80s because of Blue Lagoon and the Calvin Klein ads.

That said, I'm glad Shields has stated she wasn't traumatized or felt taken advantage of in that period.

Interestingly, there is a documentary coming to Hulu next month about just this. It's gotten pretty good reviews so far, from what I can tell. It's called Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields.

Eh, I don't find her performance in Alice, Sweet Alice to be exploitative. The movie is creepy and inappropriate, sure, but that doesn't have anything to do with her performance, it is a creepy and inappropriate slasher movie that is practically an American giallo film.

Brooke appeared in Playboy fully nude at the age of 10! Her mother signed off on it. I think her mom was one of those stage moms that will sign off on anything for money or fame.

Every time Brooke talks about her mom, it's like she's suffering from Stockholm's Syndrome.

I think Brooke insists those movies were a positive experience for her because she doesn'r want her mom to be blamed.

Technically she was in "Sugar & Spice" magazine, but it was owned by Playboy Press. I did a deep dive on that crazy rabbit hole after I watched Atlantic City, same director as Pretty Baby. Those photos are online, legally. It's insane.

I didn't like it at all but it was critically praised at the time of release. I love Burt Lancaster but he plays a total dope in the film

Was it Brooke in the film Tilt? Memory is a bit fuzzy but isn’t that the one where an older guy hangs out with her on a toad trip to exploit her pinball skills to beat some fat guy in a bar? Another questionable film…..
