I got to the part where they run the credits, and I thought they were end credits so we stopped the movie. I was very underwhelmed and surprised people loved it so much, but was somewhat entertained at its corny B movie horror and comedy and thought people loved it because it worked up to the title in the end credits just being a blatant pun/dad joke.

Then a couple days later I was reading about the movie and realized we only got like 40 mins in (thus why I felt like it seemed to gone by quick for a 90 min movie). Well I watched the rest of it tonight and it totally contextualized it for me. It was actually really funny by the end because you realize the awful weirdness and cheesiness of the first part is often just mistakes and jokes that finally deliver in the last part.

I went from thinking it was a stupid and overrated movie one night to thinking it was a fun, worthy watch two nights later. Idk that I’d rate it very high still but it was pretty fun when alls said and done. I just wish they had made that middle section more clear of what was going on

I think the ambiguity of the middle section is what got me. I don't feel surprised often when I watch a movie, but this was so much fun. I show it to my friends that are not into horror because they are squeamish or to friends that are beginning to be interested in horror but aren't sure. I beg them to just sit through it and trust me. They love it.

It has nothing to do with attention spans. It was the second movie of the night for us, Deadstream was the first one, so for sure not an attention span issue. It got to that middle portion and what I THOUGHT were end credits. I did think it was weird that it seemed so short, but I assumed maybe we were just invested in the one shot take and we only felt like it just went by super quick. It was late at night so I just didn’t think to watch through the credits or pay close attention to the time marker. Literally like thirty seconds later it would have jumped to the second part if I was more patient.

I can't think of a better example of a movie that you have to watch without looking anything up about it.

Agreed! It was pretty solid. I wish people weren’t being so hostile about a silly mistake, but I mean I watched two movies back to back and was tired.

I thought it was going to be a straight forward horror movie. I was very surprised that it’s also a comedy.

When I lend it to people I absolutely insist they go in blind, but stick around for the “post-credit sequence”

I love this movie, it is a lot esp the first time...but the joy I felt in the ending I could really identify with that struggle
