I never thought too much of him, despite recognizing that he is a good actor, but Whats Eating Gilbert Grape just blew my mind. I didn't even recognize him in it, he was phenomenal. When I saw his name in the credits I had to rewatch, as I could not believe it wasn't an actual kid with Downs syndrome. Completely gobsmacked by his performance, and at such a young age. Mega fan ever since.
